Even diamonds have humble beginnings.
At a young age, Lenora Price is uprooted from her humble beginnings after an attempted assault in her impoverished Parkside neighborhood and brought to live with her estranged family, the Beltrans, in the affluent suburb of Mansfield. Despite missing her old home, Lenny finds solace and friendship in Edison, her aunt's godson and frequent visitor.
